Market Overview:


Since January 1, 2014, more than 600 kinds of Pakistani textiles will be duty-free access to 27 EU member states market, duty-free products will exceed 1 billion US dollars. The plan is expected to contribute significantly to Pakistan's exports to Europe, particularly textiles and clothing. 2013/2014 fiscal year, Pakistan textile and apparel exports amounted to 13.74 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.3%, of which exports to the EU textiles 5 billion US dollars, an increase of 18%. The reason for this growth is mainly Pakistan benefited from the EU GSP + (GSP +) treatment, products enjoy preferential tariff-free access to the EU market. In 2013/2014 (July 2013 to June 2014), the export of woven garments in Pakistan increased by 8.3% to US $ 1.95 billion, while that of knitted garments increased by 10.8% to US $ 2.26 billion. Cotton exports increased 3% to $ 2.77 billion, but synthetic fiber textile exports fell 5.5% to $ 383 million. Cotton exports fell 11.1% to $ 2.0 billion. However, 2013/14, Pakistan's footwear exports grew 13.7% to $ 119 million, mainly from exports of leather shoes a substantial increase of 17.5%, the amount of 98.1 million US dollars.
